Rhode Island yard calendar for a portfolio

Dates below are the ones already published on the gardening calendar post and the lawn care costs page. They are not a service appointment.

Spring

Spring cleanup is on the services list and on the costs page. The gardening post says the mowing season usually runs from about mid-April to early November.

Mowing season

That post says weekly mowing is concentrated in May through September. It also points to URI guidance to leave grass at least 3 inches and to return clippings. The yard prices page lists a common weekly cut at $45 to $85. Your lot can sit outside that range.

Late summer and fall

The same post says URI’s seeding window runs from mid-August through September 30. Fall cleanup and leaf removal are tracked on the costs page. A thick leaf mat left over winter is called out there as a snow-mold risk, from the cited extension note. Budget cleanup as its own job, not as part of a mow, unless the quote says so.

Before a hard freeze

The gardening post says irrigation should be blown out before the first hard freeze, and points inland first-frost dates that are earlier than at T.F. Green. System winterize is on the services list.

Snow

Snow removal, driveway salting, and walkway shoveling are on the services list. The yard prices page does not publish a snow price. Asking for snow quotes does not insure the property.
