Calls and texts
Last updated October 10, 2026. Read with our Terms and Privacy Policy. This page is how we handle phone outreach. It is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer.
What happens today
The robot does not send texts or emails by itself. It writes drafts you can copy. Calls happen only after you pick crews, mark Call, check the consent box, and hit Negotiate my price.
Who we call
We call the public business number on the listing you selected (often a Google listing). We do not call random people. We do not invent a number. If a listing has no phone, we skip the call and can still draft an email or text.
Your consent (homeowners)
By checking the box on the price-talk form you agree that My Green Robot may, for that job:
- Place an automated or AI-assisted call to those listing numbers
- Record the call so you can hear the quote
- Write email and text drafts about the jobs you listed
Consent is not required to browse the directory. You can close the form and not start a talk.
What the crew hears
The robot will say it is My Green Robot calling for a homeowner about listed yard jobs. It will say the call may be recorded. Crews can hang up or decline. A listing in a public directory is a business contact, not a request for marketing texts to a personal cell.
Hours
We aim to call only between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Rhode Island time zone. Do not start a call batch late at night.
If we later send texts
We will not send marketing texts to a cell phone until that person has given express written consent. If a text program starts, it will say:
- Program name: My Green Robot yard quotes
- Frequency: varies with the jobs you asked us to quote; not more than the messages needed for that job, plus rare service notices
- Msg & data rates may apply
- Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help
- Consent is not a condition of using the directory
STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT will be honored. HELP will get a short help reply. We will not text after STOP except one confirmation. Quiet hours: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. recipient-local.
Emails
Opted-in price-list emails include an unsubscribe path (CAN-SPAM). Drafts to crews are not sent until a person sends them. We do not guess a crew’s inbox.
Do-not-call
If a crew asks not to be called, tell the office. We will mark that listing so the robot skips it. Businesses can also ask us to remove a number from outbound.
